Dr. Ron Boshers professional achievements in the practice of dentistry span more than 30 years and have placed him at the top of his field with two highly successful dental practices in Garland and Plano. He is also a published author and a teacher. However, the fact that most everyone he meets becomes an immediate friend can be attributed to his character, sincerity and good natured demeanor, qualities which contribute his strong commitment to giving back. Dr. Bosher has dedicated many hours of his time as a volunteer and humanitarian.
A graduate of Texas Tech University, Dr. Bosher has a BS in Biology and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the Baylor College of Dentistry. Since 1975, he has been a longstanding member of the Dallas County Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He was awarded a Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry in 1987.
Dr. Bosher spent twenty-five years as the dentist to the Dallas Cowboys Football Team, has been the regional dentist for the U.S. Olympic Committee and was appointed the Chief Dental Officer for the World Cup USA in 1994.
Most recently Dr. Bosher was invited to join the teaching faculty of The Center for Esthetics and Restorative Dentistry (CARD). CARD is one of the premier post doctoral centers that teaches dentists worldwide in advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry, and facial pain therapy (TMJ)
Dr. Boshers steadfast leadership during natural disasters, along with his missionary work in underdeveloped countries has made him the recipient of numerous awards. In 2006, Dr. Bosher received a Special Service Award from the Dallas County Dental Society for his volunteer work during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Dr. Bosher was asked to organize and lead a team of dentists to care for victims who had been relocated to the Dallas County Convention Center. Within 48 hours he had assembled a team of volunteer dentists, oral surgeons and support staff.
Dr. Bosher frequently returns to his missionary work in Peru coordinated through Christ Church Plano and Medical Ministries International. MMI sends teams of physicians and dentists to counties around the world that have no access to treatment.
Dr. Bosher and the doctors at Distinctive Dental Concepts volunteer their time each year to work with Christinas Smile, a non profit group, and provide their expertise to work with under-privileged kids in the Dallas area.
Dr. Bosher has also begun to emerge as a published author, contributing a number of articles to trade journals in the field of dentistry and to local publications.
Dr. Bosher and his wife Sally reside in Plano , Texas and are active and dedicated participants in their church. They have two daughters, Cara, a Plano teacher and Jana, who is the business manager in Dr. Boshers Plano office. The Boshers have an avid love for travel, which has taken them to many of the far reaches of the world, with many repeat visits to the Tuscan region, a family favorite.
